Lance Fors focuses on weaving disruptive innovations in human, financial and intellectual capital to try to catalyze transformative change in individuals, organizations, networks and larger systems. Lance has concurrently been the long-time board chair of the global network of Social Venture Partnerships (SVPs), Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2), New Teacher Center, Reading Partners, Silicon Valley Children’s Fund and Strive Together (co-chair), helping each transition from a start up to the leader in their field. Previously, Lance was the founder and CEO of Third Wave Technologies, building it into a leading publicly-traded biotechnology company, which made products that enabled the early detection and treatment of cervical, colorectal and other cancers.
Lance received his BA from UC-Berkeley and his PhD from the California Institute of Technology in molecular biology. He is a social entrepreneur in special needs housing, an inventor on dozens of patents, received an Ernst and Young entrepreneur of the year award, and lectures on the potential of boards to provide team-based, generative and transformative leadership.
