Armando Estrada is co-founder and current Executive Director of Via Educación, an organization based in Mexico that seeks to generate opportunities for sustainable social development through the design, implementation and evaluation of educational initiatives.
Vía’s primary focus is the development of better and new ways to engage citizens (teachers, students, parents, neighbors, businessmen) in the improvement of their own communities using participatory methodologies, unleashing the potential of society to transform itself. Prior to Via Educacion, Armando worked for CEMEX Global Headquarters where he developed the company’s assessment system to measure sustainability indicators in CEMEX worldwide. In 2013 Armando was appointed fellow of Ashoka, an international network of social entrepreneurs. Armando holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Industrial and Systems Engineering by the Monterrey Tec, and a Master in International Education Policy by Harvard University. Armando lives in Monterrey, México. He is married to Mariali Cárdenas and has two children, Juan Pablo (5 years old) and María Isabel (1 year old).
